Ascending the hall, he said, "Form arises before it has substance; name emerges before it is named. Once form and name have portended, the wandering ether disturbs the clear." The Master held up his staff and said, "Great assembly, the staff is a simultaneous bringing forth of both form and name; is there still a fault or not? If there is, it is the moon in the water; if there is not, form and name portend. If you can investigate this thoroughly, it may truly be called a great kindness hard to repay."
