He brought up: "On the day Baoshou opened his hall, Sansheng pushed forward a monk. Shou struck him. Sheng said, 'Acting for people like this blinds the eyes of the people of the whole city of Zhenzhou!' Shou then returned to the abbot's quarters." The Master said, "Although Baoshou and Sansheng brought forth Linji's Treasury of the True Dharma Eye, they only knew how to proclaim themselves supreme where there is no Buddha. At that time, if this monk had been a [real] fellow, the moment he was pushed forward he would have overturned the meditation platform; even if Baoshou had displayed his full dynamic function, he would still have fallen short by three thousand miles."
