Empty and congealed, he is no mere vessel; / having form, he manifests in distinct domains. / The Yi River displays its flow; / towering and eminent, his source is the summit. / Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa looms high and sheer; / the toad's wheel [of the moon] suddenly turns. / In the ranks of monasteries, his reputation is weighty; / toiling lives have their eyes opened. / Opened—yet who beholds it? / Swiftly he roused ancient antiquity. / Some as leaves, some as flowers; / naturally three, naturally five. / The Son of Heaven bestowed praise: "Master of Dhyāna-Concentration"; / from now into the future, the fragrant breeze blows.
