15.26

才有是非，紛然失心。直這一句，驚動多少人做計較？若承當得、坐得斷，透出威音王那畔；若隨此語轉，特地紛然，自回光返照始得。如來禪、祖師禪豈有兩種？未免諳含；各分皂白，特地乖張。事理機鋒一時坐斷，是打淨潔毬子。還知諦當著實處麼？放下看取。

The moment right and wrong arise, the mind is lost in confusion. This single phrase alone—how many people has it startled into making calculations? If you can take it up and cut it off, you will penetrate through to the other side of King of Majestic Voice; if you turn in pursuit of these words, you will become exceedingly confused, and only reversing the light to illumine inward will do. How could there be two kinds of Tathāgata Chan and Patriarchal Chan? [Yet people] inevitably harbor reservations; each distinguishes black from white, becoming exceedingly discordant. When phenomena, principle, and dynamic sharpness are cut off all at once, that is playing a clean ball. Do you know the accurate and solid place? Put it down and look.
