18.38

大定等虛空，廓然誰辯的，女子與瞿曇，據令何條直。師子奮迅兮搖乾蕩坤，象王回旋兮不資餘力，孰勝孰負？誰出誰入？雨散雲收，青天白日。君不見，馬駒踏殺天下人，臨濟未是白拈賊。

The great samādhi is like empty space; / who can distinctly discern it in its openness? / The woman and Gautama: / relying on the order, how straightforward! / The lion roars energetically, shaking heaven and tumbling earth; / the elephant king wheels around without expending spare effort. / Who wins and who loses? / Who exits and who enters? / The rain disperses, the clouds clear away: / blue sky and bright sun. / Have you not seen? / The colt trampled everyone under heaven to death; / Linji was not yet a daylight thief.
