鎮州出大蘿蔔，猛虎不食伏肉，直饒眼似流星，爭免持南作北。老趙州，逈殊絕，片言本自定乾坤，返使叢林鬧聒聒。
Zhenzhou produces large radishes; / a fierce tiger does not eat prostrate flesh. / Even if one's eyes were like shooting stars, / how could one avoid taking south for north? / Old Zhaozhou / is exceptionally transcendent. / A single phrase originally settled heaven and earth, / yet on the contrary makes the monastic groves noisily clamorous.
