雙明復雙暗，獨立絕殊方，乘機直面提，其鋒安可當。同條生，兩鏡相照無能名，不同條死，鐵樹華開亘今古，末後句，始牢關，拈却門前大案山。

Doubly illuminated and doubly dark, / Standing alone, cutting off divergent quarters. / Seizing the dynamic, confronting face to face— / How could his sharp edge be withstood? / Born on the same bough: / Two mirrors illumine each other, beyond all naming. / Not dying on the same bough: / The iron tree blossoms, spanning past and present. / The final phrase / Is the primary secure pass: / He removes the great table mountain before the gate.
