Ascending the hall, he said, "'Striking one and knocking two' is the fundamental pincers and hammer; kneading together and opening up is an adept's application. In the place of dirt on the head and mud on the face, one stands like a wall a thousand fathoms high; in the place of standing like a wall a thousand fathoms high, there is mud on the face and dirt on the head. Naturally releasing both and gathering both, everywhere bringing auspiciousness and good fortune. Do you fully comprehend? Scoop up water, and the moon is in your hands; / Handle flowers, and fragrance fills your robes."
