高擁毳袍，橫按拄杖，作意提綱，截斷伎倆。放出向上一機，千聖魂亡膽喪，於此有人承當，便見千了百當。圓悟杖頭一滴禪，西江十八灘俱漲。

Piling high the patched robe, / pressing down crosswise the staff, / intentionally upholding the outline, / severing all artifice. / Setting loose the single dynamic of the transcendent, / a thousand sages lose their souls and胆 [courage]. / If someone here shoulders it, / they instantly see that a thousand and a hundred matters are resolved. / From the tip of Yuanwu's staff, a single drop of Chan: / all eighteen rapids of the West River swell.
