3.37

浴佛上堂云：「一手指天，一手指地，末上一機，衲僧巴鼻，步步蓮華，金盆澡洗，西天東土共流傳，至今處處燒香水。」良久云：「車不橫推，理不曲斷。」下座。

Ascending the hall for the bathing of the Buddha, [the Master] said: "One hand pointing to heaven, one hand pointing to earth; the final dynamic mechanism, the patch-robed monk's nostrils. At every step a lotus flower; in the golden basin bathed and washed. From Western India to the Eastern Land, it has been handed down together; down to the present day, everywhere fragrant water is sprinkled." After a long pause, he said: "A cart is not pushed sideways; principle is not judged crookedly." He stepped down from the seat.
