看藏經上堂：「祥煙繚繞，瑞氣氤氳，公案見成，有誰扣擊？」乃云：「塵中大經卷，莫測津涯，聰慧淨眼人，始能拈出。直得義天性海，若帝網交羅；智照神光，如洪爐猛焰。今日幸遇皇風蕩蕩，帝道平平，有大心檀越為汝發機，使諸人各各八字打開，直得霞絛展處，玉牒舒時，文彩已彰，各宜薦取。且不落文墨一句作麼生道？一堂風冷淡，千古意分明。」

Ascending the hall for inspecting the canon: “Auspicious smoke coils, propitious vapors gather; the gong'an is ready-made, who knocks and strikes?” Then he said: “The great scroll of scriptures within a dust mote—its limits cannot be fathomed; only a person of pure eyes and sharp wisdom can bring it out. So it is that the heaven of meaning and the ocean of nature are like the interlaced net of Indra; the illumination of wisdom and the spiritual radiance are like the fierce flames of a great furnace. Today we are fortunate to meet the vast imperial breeze and the level imperial way; a dānapati of great mind activates the trigger for you, causing each of you to open up completely, so that where the rosy silk unrolls and the jade tablets spread out, the pattern is already apparent—each should recognize it! But how do you speak a phrase that does not fall into ink and writing? The hall is filled with cool wind; the meaning throughout a thousand ages is distinct.”
