6.27

住南康軍雲居真如禪院。師於建炎丁未歲十一月初六日，在鎮江浮玉山，受劄子召赴行朝。至十七日，朝見登對，移刻奉勅住雲居。次日勅下，時兩府并禁從，就雍熙寺請師陞座，祇受勅文。師拈勅示眾云：「九重城裏親宣賜，一道神光爍太虛，勝義諦中真勝義，千華叢裏綻芙蕖。一舉便知，多少省力，苟或未然，更請宣過。」

Residing at Zhenru Chan Monastery on Mount Yunju in Nankang Commandery. On the sixth day of the eleventh month in the dingwei year of Jianyan [1127 CE], while at Mount Fuyu in Zhenjiang, the Master received an imperial dispatch summoning him to the temporary imperial court. On the seventeenth day, he had an audience with the Emperor, and after an extended discussion, received an imperial decree to reside at Yunju. The next day the imperial decree was issued; at that time, officials of both bureaus and court attendants gathered at Yongxi Monastery to invite the Master to ascend the seat and reverently receive the imperial decree. The Master picked up the imperial decree, showed it to the assembly, and said: "Personally proclaimed and bestowed from within the ninefold walls of the imperial palace, / A single beam of spiritual light flashes through the great void. / The true ultimate truth within the ultimate truth, / A lotus blooming within the cluster of a thousand flowers. / Knowing it at a single mention saves so much effort; but if that is not yet so, I ask that it be read aloud once more."
