Venerable Long Zhizang, having accorded with the principle in the Huxiang region, came and went from Beishan for over ten years; he is truly a patch-robed monk of native color who has investigated profundities and mastered them thoroughly. Thereupon he was appointed to share the seat, and has already instructed disciples for three years. Having received the imperial decree to move to Tianning in the capital, he wished to obtain Dharma words to signify our spiritual accord, and for this reason I produced these few passages. In the middle of the twelfth month of the sixth year of Xuanhe, written by the old monk Foguo.
