Invited to ascend the hall on the birthday of Awaiting-Order Wang, the Master instructed the assembly, saying: “The phrase facing directly ahead immediately cuts through to the root source; not obscuring the dynamic moment, come out from the assembly to meet each other.” The Master said: “The spiritual dynamic is open and clear, how could there be steps? The illumination of wisdom is completely luminous, fundamentally without delusion or darkness. In all places performing extraordinary matters without stirring a single thread; beneath the heels extending a firm and solid body throughout the realms of dust motes. Cutting off the path of a thousand differences, standing prominently in the four postures: what need to rely on walking seven steps around or the ten kinds of auspicious portents? Clearly free of leakage, distinctly without concealment; embracing past and present, equalising things and self, levelling gain and loss, blending going and coming—clearly, ready-made directly beneath, this is the original face. Just like breaking through form and sound, tell me, how do you deliver the message? Do you understand completely? Just as a single dust mote is raised, the udumbara flower manifests in its entirety.”
