Invited by Inspector Han to ascend the hall: "Great assembly! The sun sinks down, the wind rustles—all myriad ages are just this present moment. Clouds gather dense, water murmurs—on the spot, the total substance appears. Those clinging to skin and attached to bones cannot avoid discussing the nature and discussing mind; those who go beyond the mold and transcend the lineage immediately say this is dragging through mud and water. Little do they know that everyone has the capacity to cut off the tongues of everyone under heaven, and each person possesses the diamond true eye. If you can know before it is raised and accord before a word is spoken, then when meeting a person of the Way on the road, you will not answer with speech or silence. Arriving here, like gold bartered for gold, like water poured into water, you then fully rely on the power of this grace. And right at such a moment, what is the single phrase that raises the whole? Do you understand? Only when knowing grace does one know how to repay deep grace."
