玄沙云：「若論此事，喻一片田地，四至界分，結契賣與諸人了也，只有中心樹子猶屬老僧在。」頌云：
Xuansha said, "If we discuss this matter, it is like a piece of land: having marked the boundaries on all four sides and drawn up the deed, it has been sold off to you all; only the tree in the very center still belongs to this old monk." The verse says:
