10.235

師室中常舉竹篦問學者曰：「喚作竹篦則觸，不喚作竹篦則背。」眾下語皆不契，因僧請益，復成五頌示之。頌云：

In his chamber, the Master often held up a bamboo comb and asked students, "If you call it a bamboo comb, you make contact; if you do not call it a bamboo comb, you turn away." None of the assembly's responses hit the mark. Because a monk asked for further instruction, he composed another five verses to show them. The verses say:
