A single white staff strikes both buddhas and patriarchs; / Chan practitioner Chaozong is bold and fearless. / Having my portrait painted, he comes to beg for a eulogy, like posting hexagram charms on the demon gate. / Thirty years from now this saying will gain great currency; / Let anyone divine by tortoiseshell or strike roof tiles as they will.
