12.25

庭柏無根，虛空有骨，十分魯鈍，似遼天鶻。熱至乘涼，寒燒榾柮，夫是之謂，趙州古佛。

The cypress in the courtyard has no roots; empty space has bones.
Utterly dull and obtuse, like a falcon soaring across the sky.
When heat arrives, taking the cool; when cold, burning wood scraps.
This indeed is what is called the ancient Buddha Zhaozhou.
