擔荷此事，直是具決定志，一棒打不回頭底；若半進半退、似信不信，縱得箇入頭處，亦禁大鑪鞴烹鍛不得，況欲向千差萬別處作主宰耶？妙喜這般說話，如在鬧市裏颺石頭，著者方知。空慧道人，不須疑著。

To shoulder this matter, you must directly possess determined resolution, like someone who will not turn his head back even when struck by a blow. If you half-advance and half-retreat, seemingly believing and seemingly not believing, even if you attain an entry point, you will not be able to withstand smelting in the great furnace and bellows, much less wish to be master amidst the thousands of differences and myriad distinctions. For Miaoxi to speak like this is like hurling a stone in a crowded market—only the one who gets hit knows it. Daoist Konghui, do not doubt it.
