4.35

浴佛上堂：「芭蕉無耳聞雷開，葵華無眼隨日轉，釋迦老子亦無生，每歲今朝浴一遍。既無生，又浴箇甚麼？有條攀條，無條攀例。」

Ascending the hall for Bathing the Buddha: "The plantain without ears hears thunder and blossoms; the sunflower without eyes follows the sun and turns. Old Shakya is also unborn, yet every year on this day we bathe him once. Since he is unborn, what is being bathed? If there are branches, climb the branches; if there are no branches, follow precedent."
