I praise my own portrait—who can thoroughly comprehend it? / Fire and wind are warm and moving, earth and water are solid and wet; / They all belong to direct perception; if you deliberate in mind, you miss it. / To approach and elucidate it is false and unreal; / To turn away and abandon it is soil, wood, tile, and stone. / My uttering these words is like an arrow hitting the target; / If you seek elsewhere apart from this, you are deluded, bewildered, and witless.
