法雲佛照杲禪師，嘗退居景德鐵羅漢院，殿中有木羅漢數尊，京師苦寒，杲取而燒之，擁爐達旦。次日淘灰中得舍利無數，諸座主輩，皆目之為外道。蓋佛照乃丹霞輩流，非俗眼所能驗也。

Chan Master Foyao Gao of Fayun once retired to live at the Iron Arhat Cloister of Jingde. In the hall there were several wooden arhat statues. The capital was bitterly cold; Gao took them and burned them, huddling over the brazier until dawn. The next day, when sifting through the ashes, countless relics were found. The various lecture masters all regarded him as a non-Buddhist. Indeed, Foyao was of the lineage of Danxia, not something worldly eyes could fathom.
