Ascending the hall: "In the eye it is called seeing; in the ear it is called hearing; in the hands it grasps and holds; in the feet it runs and rushes. Opening wide, there are east, west, south, and north; holding fast, not a hair's breadth remains. Tell me, is opening wide good, or is holding fast good?" Suddenly picking up his staff, he struck it once and said: "One breath without speaking contains all images; where do the myriad spirits give thanks for selflessness?"
