上堂，舉：「仰山因僧問：『法身還解說法也無？』仰云：『我說不得，別有一人說得。』僧云：『說得底人在甚處？』仰山推出枕子。溈山聞乃云：『寂子用劍刃上事。』」師云：「滅却溈仰一宗，只因此語。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Yangshan, because a monk asked, 'Can the Dharma-body still preach the Dharma or not?' Yangshan said, 'I cannot speak it, but there is someone else who can speak it.' The monk said, 'Where is the person who can speak it?' Yangshan pushed forward a pillow. Guishan, hearing this, then said, 'Jizi functions upon the sword's edge.'"
The master said, "The destruction of the Gui-Yang lineage was caused solely by these words."
