上堂：「削圓方竹杖，鞔却紫茸氈，是爾衲子尋常用處。只如月波樓跳入蟭螟眼裏，千聖小王怒發，將鴛鴦湖一脚踢飜，又作麼生？」

Ascending the hall: 'Whittling round the square bamboo cane, covering over the purple plush rug—these are what patch-robed monks ordinarily use. But what about when the Moon Wave Pavilion jumps into the eye of a midge, and the minor king of a thousand sages flies into a rage, kicking over the Mandarin Duck Lake with one foot?'
