歸新修僧堂上堂：「石霜坐枯千眾，已見未忘；南泉牽牛巡堂，乞兒鬪富。興聖古屋一旦鼎新，坐臥經行，各宜記取。且道，記取箇甚麼？」喝一喝。

Ascending the hall upon moving into the newly renovated saṅgha hall: 'Shishuang sat withered with a thousand followers—already seen and not forgotten; Nanquan led the ox around the hall—beggars competing in wealth. Xingsheng's old building has been renewed overnight; walking, standing, sitting, and lying, each of you should remember it well. Tell me, what should you remember?' He gave a shout.
