10.68

惟此一事實，餘二即非真，洞然明白，猶落法塵，自己禪只參半夏，行脚眼帶來幾春，且向寒爐敲石火，不須茗椀驗來賓。

Only this one matter is real; the other two are not true.
Thoroughly clear and plain, he still falls into the dust of dharmas.
His own Chan was practiced for only half a summer;
how many springs did he carry the eye of itinerant pilgrimage?
Just strike flint-fire at the cold hearth;
there is no need to test incoming guests with a bowl of tea.
