Ascending the hall on the Lantern Festival: "Of the lamps of the worldly realm, none is brighter than the lamp of the mind. Once the lamp of the mind is raised, then trichiliocosms as minute as hair tips are bright as day. Those among them who are not good at trimming and stoking it, though they have it, it is as if they have none. Do you want to see the lamp of the mind?" Striking his staff: "Yangshan opens up the slash-and-burn field; Guizong drags the stone."
