2.28

上堂，舉：「雲門因僧問：『如何是超佛越祖之談？』門云：『胡餅。』」師云：「傷弓之鳥，見曲木而高飛。有人見得雲門，善為我辭。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Yunmen, because a monk asked, 'What is the talk that transcends buddhas and surpasses patriarchs?' Yunmen said, 'A sesame cake.'" The Master said, "A bird wounded by an arrow flies high upon seeing a bent branch. If someone sees Yunmen, offer my apologies well."
