2.48

智者和尚至，上堂：「淨瓶裏澡洗，古檮下修身，彼此寸長尺短，何妨忝為切隣。相見又無事，不來還憶君，杜鵑啼斷月如晝，不似尋常空過春。」

When Venerable Zhizhe arrived, the master ascended the hall: "Bathing in the water jar, cultivating oneself under the ancient stump—each has his inches long and feet short, so what harm in being close neighbors? Meeting again there is nothing to do; when you do not come, I still think of you. The cuckoo's cry breaks off as the moon is like daylight, not like passing the spring in vain as usual."
