3.54

復舉：「翠嵓靈傪禪師示眾云：『一夏與兄弟東說西話，看翠嵓眉毛在麼？』保福云：『作賊人心虛。』長慶云：『生也。』雲門云：『關。』」師云：「三大老各出隻手，要扶樹翠嵓門戶以報雪峯，爭柰只解同心，不能同志。」

He further cited: "Chan Master Cuiyan Lingcan addressed the assembly, saying: 'All summer long I have spoken east and talked west with you brothers. Look: are Cuiyan's eyebrows still there?' Baofu said: 'One who acts as a thief has a guilty conscience.' Changqing said: 'They have grown.' Yunmen said: 'Barrier!'" The Master said: "The three great elders each put forth a hand, wishing to support Cuiyan's gate to repay Xuefeng; yet what can be done when they only know how to share a heart, but cannot share the same aspiration?"
