4.22

橫鉤三點，似月如星，老胡用盡機關，一生拈弄不出，若更加其彔彔曲曲，自謂海外得來，何異楚人以雞為鳳。要得恁麼，直須盡大地明眼譯師無啟口處，方合斯旨。

A horizontal hook and three dots, like the moon and stars—the old barbarian exhausted all his stratagems, but in his whole life could not bring it out. If one further adds twists and turns, claiming to have obtained it from overseas, how is it different from the person of Chu mistaking a chicken for a phoenix? If you wish to attain it thus, you must bring about the point where clear-eyed translators throughout the entire earth have no place to open their mouths; only then will it accord with this intent.
