5.107

夾山初住京口寺，因僧問：「如何是法身？」山云：「法身無相。」又問：「如何是法眼？」山云：「法眼無瑕。」時道吾在座下失笑。山請益後，散眾參舡子省發，後歸聚徒。道吾令僧往問：「如何是法身？」山云：「法身無相。」又問：「如何是法眼？」山云：「法眼無瑕。」僧回舉似道吾，吾云：「者漢此回方徹。」

When Jiashan first resided at Jingkou Monastery, a monk asked, "What is the Dharma body?" Shan said, "The Dharma body has no form." He further asked, "What is the Dharma eye?" Shan said, "The Dharma eye has no blemish." At that time Daowu was in the assembly and burst out laughing. After Jiashan asked for further instruction, he dispersed the assembly, visited Chuanzi, and was awakened. Later he returned and gathered disciples. Daowu sent a monk to go and ask, "What is the Dharma body?" Shan said, "The Dharma body has no form." He further asked, "What is the Dharma eye?" Shan said, "The Dharma eye has no blemish." The monk returned and related this to Daowu. Daowu said, "This fellow has only now penetrated through."
