楊大年參廣慧璉和尚發明，有頌：八角磨盤空裏走，金毛獅子變作狗，擬欲將身北斗藏，直須合掌南辰後。

Yang Danian attained illumination under Venerable Guanghui Lian and made this verse: "An eight-cornered millstone flies through empty space; / The golden-haired lion turns into a dog. / If you intend to hide your body in the Northern Dipper, / You must press your palms together behind the Southern Dipper."
