5.83

南泉住庵時，一僧到，泉云：「我上山作務，齋時做飯喫了，送一分來。」其僧飯了，將家事一時打碎，就床上臥。泉伺久不來，遂歸見僧臥，泉亦就臥，僧便起去。

When Nanquan was living in a hermitage, a monk arrived. Nanquan said, "I am going up the mountain to do chores; at the noon meal, prepare food and eat, and bring a portion for me." That monk finished eating, smashed all the household utensils at once, and lay down on the bed. Nanquan waited a long time and the monk did not come, so he returned and saw the monk lying down; Nanquan also lay down beside him. The monk immediately got up and left.
