舉：「襄州哲和尚因檀越請首座開堂，主事來白，哲云：『是即是，欠悟在。』首座聞乃束裝他去，哲以主丈打出。」

He cited: "Because a patron invited the head monk to inaugurate a hall, the administrator came to report to Upādhyāya Zhe of Xiangzhou. Zhe said, 'It is right as far as it goes, but enlightenment is still lacking.' When the head monk heard this, he packed his baggage and went elsewhere. Zhe drove him out with his staff."
