舉：「歸宗剗草次，有座主來參，偶見一蛇過，宗遂鉏斷。主云：『久嚮歸宗，元來是箇麁行沙門。』宗云：『爾麁？我麁？』」

He cited: "While Guizong was weeding grass, a lecture master came for an interview. It happened that a snake passed by, and Guizong chopped it in two with his hoe. The lecture master said, 'Long have I looked up to Guizong, but it turns out you are a coarse-acting śramaṇa.' Guizong said, 'Are you coarse, or am I coarse?'"
