6.130

舉：「齊峯和尚因龐公問：『此去峯頂有幾里？』峯云：『甚麼處去來？』公云：『可殺峻硬不得問著。』峯云：『是多少？』公云：『一二三。』峯云：『四五六。』公云：『何不道七峯？』云：『纔道七便有八。』公云：『得也得也。』峯云：『一任添取。』公便喝，峯亦喝。」

He cited: "Because Layman Pang asked Upādhyāya Qifeng, 'How many miles from here to the peak?' Qifeng said, 'Where have you come from?' The layman said, 'Extremely steep and unyielding—it cannot be inquired into.' Qifeng said, 'How much is it?' The layman said, 'One, two, three.' Qifeng said, 'Four, five, six.' The layman said, 'Why not say seven?' Qifeng said, 'As soon as one says seven, there is eight.' The layman said, 'That's it, that's it!' Qifeng said, 'Add to it as you please.' The layman gave a shout, and Qifeng also gave a shout."
