舉：「西院思明和尚未住時，在許州，聞汝州南院出世，元與同參，遂特去人事了云：『某甲啟和尚，無可人事，自許州來，收得江西剃刀一柄，上和尚。』院云：『汝從許州來，為甚却有江西剃刀？』明遂於院手上，掐一掐，院云：『侍者收。』明以衣袖，一拂便行，院云：『阿喇喇，阿喇喇。』」

He cited: "Before Upādhyāya Xiyuan Siming became an abbot, while in Xuzhou, he heard that Nanyuan in Ruzhou had appeared in the world. Since they were originally fellow practitioners, he went specially to pay his respects. After doing so, he said: 'I report to the upādhyāya, I have nothing with which to pay my respects; coming from Xuzhou, I obtained a Jiangxi razor, which I present to the upādhyāya.' [Nan]yuan said: 'Since you come from Xuzhou, why do you have a Jiangxi razor?' Siming then gave a pinch on Nanyuan's hand. Nanyuan said: 'Attendant, receive it.' Siming flicked his sleeves once and walked away. Nanyuan said: 'Alala, alala!'"
