6.22

舉：「無著往臺山，文殊問：『大德從何方而來？』云：『南方。』云：『南方佛法如何住持？』云：『末法比丘少奉戒律。』云：『多少眾？』云：『或三百或五百。』無著却問：『和尚此間如何住持？』云：『凡聖同居，龍蛇混雜。』云：『多少眾？』云：『前三三，後三三。』」

[He] brought up: "Wuzhuo went to Mount Wutai. Mañjuśrī asked, 'From where has the Venerable come?' He said, 'From the south.' [Mañjuśrī] asked, 'How is the Buddha Dharma maintained in the south?' He said, 'The bhikṣus of the final age rarely observe the precepts.' [Mañjuśrī] asked, 'How large is the assembly?' He said, 'Perhaps three hundred or five hundred.' Wuzhuo then asked, 'How does the Upādhyāya maintain it here?' [Mañjuśrī] said, 'Ordinary beings and sages dwell together; dragons and snakes are intermingled.' [Wuzhuo] asked, 'How large is the assembly?' [Mañjuśrī] said, 'The front three-three, the back three-three.'"
