萬德不將來，猛獸自馴伏，一嘯出林，陰風拔木，
只知拊掌放憨，不覺山青水綠。

Ten thousand virtues not brought along, / The fierce beast is naturally subdued. / With one roar emerging from the forest, / A sinister gale uproots the trees. / Only knowing to clap hands and play the fool, / Unaware that the mountains are green and the waters emerald.
