6.28

舉：「南泉示眾：『法身具四大，有人道得，與他一腰裩。』道吾出云：『性地非空，空非性地，此是地大，三大亦然。』泉不違前言，乃與一腰裩。」

[He] brought up: "Nanquan instructed the assembly: 'The Dharma-body possesses the four great elements. If someone can speak of it, I will give him a pair of trousers.' Daowu came forward and said, 'The nature-ground is not empty; empty is not the nature-ground. This is the earth element; the [other] three elements are also like this.' Nanquan did not go back on his previous words and gave him a pair of trousers."
