性燥衲僧，佒佯座主，抹過村草步頭，直下挨肩佛祖，
楊岐其師，白雲其侶，一鳴鳳臺，凌跨今古。
A patch-robed monk of irascible nature, / an unconstrained lecturing master, / he strode past the village grass and boat-landings, / rubbing shoulders directly with the buddhas and patriarchs. / Yangqi was his master, / Baiyun his companion; / with one cry on the Phoenix Terrace, / he transcended past and present.
