6.32

舉：「趙州在南泉，時井樓上，見泉行過，乃垂一足云：『相救相救。』泉於蹈梯上打云：『一二三四五。』州具威儀，上方丈云：『適來謝和尚相救。』」

[He] brought up: "When Zhaozhou was at Nanquan's place, on the well pavilion he saw Nanquan walking past, so he hung down one foot and said, 'Save me, save me!' Nanquan struck the ladder, saying, 'One, two, three, four, five.' Zhaozhou donned his dignified deportment, went up to the abbot's quarters, and said, 'Just now I thank the Upādhyāya for saving me.'"
