6.40

舉：「茱萸因趙州上法堂，東覷西覷，萸云：『作甚麼？』云：『探水。』云：『我者裏一滴也無，探箇甚麼？』州將主丈靠壁而出。」

He cited: "When Zhaozhou went up to the Dharma hall, Zhuyu looked east and looked west. Zhuyu said, 'What are you doing?' [Zhaozhou] said, 'Testing the water.' [Zhuyu] said, 'Here I do not have a single drop; what are you testing?' Zhaozhou leaned his staff against the wall and left."
