6.80

舉：「石霜諸禪師因僧辭，霜問：『舡去陸去？』僧云：『遇舡即舡，遇陸即陸。』霜云：『我道半途稍難。』僧無語。」

He cited: "Chan Master Shishuang Zhu, when a monk was taking leave, Shuang asked, 'Are you going by boat or by land?' The monk said, 'Meeting a boat, I take a boat; meeting land, I take land.' Shuang said, 'I say midway will be rather difficult.' The monk was speechless."
