6.82

舉：「明招到泉州坦長老處，坦云：『夫參學，一人所在亦須到，半人所在亦須到。』招便問：『一人所在即不問，作麼生是半人所在？』坦無語，後却令小師問招，招云：『欲識半人麼，也只是弄泥團漢。』」

He cited: "Mingzhao went to the place of Senior Monk Tan of Quanzhou. Tan said, 'Now in practicing and studying, where there is one person, one must go; where there is half a person, one must also go.' Mingzhao then asked, 'Leaving aside where there is one person, what is it where there is half a person?' Tan was speechless. Later he had his junior disciple ask Mingzhao. Mingzhao said, 'Do you want to know the half a person? He is just a fellow playing with clumps of mud.'"
