6.86

舉：「婺州新建和尚，一生不畜沙彌，有座主云：『和尚年尊，何不討箇小師侍奉？』云：『若有眼暗耳聾口啞底，為我討一箇來。』主無對。」

He cited: "Upādhyāya Xinjian of Wuzhou never kept a śrāmaṇera all his life. A lecturer monk said, 'The upādhyāya is advanced in years; why not seek out a junior disciple to attend upon you?' He said, 'If there is someone blind in eye, deaf in ear, and mute of mouth, seek one out for me.' The lecturer had no reply."
