6.90

舉：「天台幽棲和尚，一日鳴鐘上堂，眾纔集，乃問：『誰打鐘？』僧云：『維那。』云：『近前來。』僧近前，棲與一掌，便歸方丈。」

He cited: "Upādhyāya Youqi of Tiantai one day struck the bell and ascended the hall. As soon as the assembly gathered, he asked, 'Who struck the bell?' A monk said, 'The karmadāna.' He said, 'Come forward.' The monk came forward, and Youqi gave him a slap, then returned to the abbot's quarters."
